  • Lunch & Learn: Food insecurity discussion series  
    June 1, 4, 8, 15, 22, 29 - all sessions 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. 
    This discussion series is centered around global and regional food insecurity issues. Each week, participants will watch short videos or hear from a speaker, then reflect as a group on the issues presented that week.   
  • Your Purposeful Pursuit of Ut Prosim 
    June 4, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
    Participants will explore purpose-guided leadership through watching the award-winning short film, "Butterfly Circus". Following the film, participants will discuss how to apply the film's principles through VT's experiential learning opportunities.
  • Pursuing Ut Prosim with Your Life Story 
    June 11, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
    Participants will learn how to identify and leverage meaningful moments in their lives in order to be intentional about further exploring and developing their unique, authentic selves at VT and beyond.  
  • Systems Thinking and the Student Leadership Competencies 
    June 17, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
    This interactive workshop will utilize systems thinking activities to help attendees learn how to better understand complex social problems and determine their role in both creating and resolving them. Participants will be asked to think critically about their ability to affect change through the lens of Corey Seemiller's Student Leadership Competencies. 
  • Accessible Communications during COVID-19 
    June 24, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. 
    The session will present participants with tangible ideas to make communication, particularly in marketing, more accessible, how to avoid common accessibility mistakes, and more.  
  • Hokies Vote: Understanding the landscape of student voting at Virginia Tech 
    June 30, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
    Participants will learn more about the voting trends of Virginia Tech students and young voters broadly.

    In this workshop designed for faculty members and instructors, the basics of designing and implementing service-learning courses will be covered for faculty new to this pedagogical tool.
